Our slogan is Human Again. People sometimes find that funny coming from an AI nonprofit. It is the most serious thing we say.

The trade

AI can take a lot of small, boring work off your plate. Drafting the email. Summarizing the meeting. Turning notes into a list. That is real time back.

But time back is not automatic. If you fill it with more tabs and more output, nothing changed. You just got busier, faster.

So we have an older line too: we use AI to speed up, so we can slow down. Human Again is the slow-down part.

What we mean by human

Making something with your hands. Growing food. Walking without a podcast. Fixing a chair. Cooking for friends. Learning a song. Sitting in a room with people and not checking anything.

None of that is new. It just keeps getting pushed out of the day.

Why we teach classes that are not AI

There is a real worry that AI makes people think less. It can, if we hand it everything. The answer is not to avoid the tools. It is to keep doing hard, physical, creative things alongside them. Hands and head together.

That is why we are starting Human Again classes. No prompts required.

Solarpunk, without the costume

We like the solarpunk picture of the future. Green, local, shared. We care more about the habits than the look. Repair before you replace. Grow something. Share what you make. Keep your tools small enough that you understand them.

What to do this week

Pick one task AI can help with. Do it faster. Then take the time you saved and spend it offline on purpose. Call someone. Pull weeds. Cook something slow.
